About Fallen Feathers

As someone who grew up with an arts-and-crafts minded mother and a very DIY-keen father, no surprise that I too found myself enjoying tinkering with various constructive and destructive hobbies.

While my drawing skills leave a lot to be desired, it’s things like resin crafts and physical creations that are more my style. What started out as an interest in making me and my friends some customised dice for tabletop RPGs turned into a horrifically expansive collection of silicone molds of various shapes and sizes.

I’ve dabbled in a lot of different mediums; crochet, resin, 3D pen, doll customising, tailoring, metalwork, micro electronics, diamond painting… But since mid-2020 there has been a theme to the motifs I try out first; feathers.

Winged and flying creatures are cool to me (bugs, less so, but even then I tend to find them fascinating)- enough that both my first and second tattoos are be-winged. And in 2020, I was able to welcome a pair of budgies to my household. Cue a lot of REAL fallen feathers and sanity-saving from my pair of fluffy chickens- as well as inspiration from their colours and markings and chaotic energy. In 2023 I added the next round of chaos to the little flock with a third baby budgie, who quickly earned the nickname ‘demon birb’.

So yes- I am a ‘crazy bird lady’. I pour a lot of my creativity into random crafts that I do, which in turn gives me those little seratonin boosts that we all need in life.
